Probably both. Ping is from Northeast China, the land of the Siberian Tigers, and now he lives in the northern US.

Yes, there's a pink Ping nose at the top to go with the toes!

It must be genetic too, since the King is an indoor kitty and still has such magnificent floof. I'm sure it's his Siberian Tiger ancestry.

You have a miniature long-haired Siberian Tiger.
Amazing how he lives so comfortably in domesticity.
(I used to live with a tuxedo boy who was a Bengal Tiger, so I understand the impact of the imperial presence.)

Our King has always told us of his tiger ancestors, as a proper Chinese royal would.
