Second brekkis at the Miao House, by Lotus Batcat

Little Miao gave us brekkis this morning.  Mama Miao and Papa Miao weren't home so Little Miao had to do it all by herself.

I didn't bother to show up to brekkis because I was full of crunchy buggies and I never eat the homemade fud anyway.  I napped in my Lotus Tree while my brothers slurped their brekkis.

Then big brother Merlin came and said, "Merp!"  That means: "We only got a teaspoon of brekkis each!"

"Merp!"

I didn't believe him because that's silly and we always get more brekkis than that.  I told him to take a nap and it would be din-dins before he knew it.

But then I heard Little Miao talking to Kemi.  Kemi doesn't eat the homemade brekkis either, even though he's hungry in the morning.

Kemi considers serious matters

She said, "Oh noes, I didn't take enough brekkis out of the freezer to thaw.  I can't let your brothers starve all day long.  The poor things are licking their dishes and milling around even though the brekkis is already long gone.  I can feel Ping's ribs through his floof.  What do I do, my Bear-a-boo?"

Kemi snorted and sighed at the same time.

"You think it would be okay for me to give you some crunchies?"

We've not gotten crunchies in the morning since our new Meal Plan began in December.  We used to get crunchies immediately after brekkis, and that was fine with me because I'd never eat the wet food.  I'd just wait for the crunchies.  Now most days I have to wait until din-din time to eat anything except the buggies.  I can have buggies all day long.

"Papa Miao would understand if I gave you crunchies this morning.  He wouldn't want you to starve.  We just won't make a habit of it, will we, Kemi-bear?"

Kemi leapt from Little Miao's arms with an arrrrlll and she followed him into the kitchen.  Then she gave each of us a bowl of crunchies.  And so thanks to Kemi's good advice we got a nice yummy brekkies after all.
