The Miao Brothers are going vegan

Comments

Well...in defense of Lotus (Of Cool Eye And Steady Paw), devouring insects is not only a digestive necessity but a social one as well. What's wrong with a little Cricket n' Veggie Stew?
[this is good]
OMG, vegan cat fud. It had to be out there... I am very curious about what the brothers think of it...

....

Waaaaitaminit, Little M, I see this post is dated april 1st... although I only saw it today (april 2nd).... and Lotus is snickering suspiciously? and since when were you in charge of feeding the Miao brothers?? Wasn't mama Miao quite happy with the home-made fud change recently??? you wouldn't be pullingk our legs???? would you????? with something as serious as the Miao brothers' fud??????

Littlem just woke up from a nap and realized April 1 is almost over.
So true. I wasn't planning anything until I fell victim to Stephel's little prank. Then I had to do one of my own.
Haha! :P Well, I'm still curious about the vegan cat food. If I see it in a store, I'll get them a can, but I don't plan to place an internet order. Heehee.

My theory is that Lotus can't stand veggies in his fud (or visible veggies, at least), because he almost never eats Mama Miao's homemade food, and that has little pieces of carrots and peas. He just waits till later in the day to eat his kibble. He loves the canned brekkis we give them once in a while (for variety), and I think that has some hidden veggies in it...
I read their FAQ section. Turns out vegan cat fud is so acid that it causes urinary tract problems for boy-cats if they're fed too much of the vegan fud... so they recommend at least 25% animal protein for healthy boy cats, and up to 75% for boys prone to crystals and urinary tract problems.
Girl cats can eat more of the vegan stuff without problems... because of differences in the plumbing depahtment.
I don't like the sound of that... although crystals happen with all fuds I think... except maybe fresh-caught mice and birds.

No... no... that's no good at all. One of the reason we stopped using most commercially produced cat fud was because of its link to urinary system problems.

Also, the kibbles they eat have no grains in them.
