The Miao Brothers are swarming after me wherever I go, begging for their dinner. Prince Fluffy-pants started begging nearly two hours ago but I've been ignoring his requests with snorgles and pettings.
And what am I doing now? Blogging. I still have to wash their little dishies. Poor purrs. Ping has his teef-cleaning appointment tomorrow so they won't get anything after 10pm, and they'll have a very late breakfast (even later for the King). Sometimes I don't know how they can put up with me.
I was going to ramble on about some of the books I've read in the last two months, but Vox decided against it at the last minute. Instead, you get one of the following:
a. A Miao Post with furry Miao Brothers all snuggled up Napping
b. Photos of flowers so gorgeous you can practically smell them
c. A video of the Miao Brothers purring and snoring and meowing in chorus
d. None of the above
Correct answer: d.

The Long Patrol by Brian Jacques. Begun while on a brief visit home... Now I'm back up to five books on the go at once.
It has been a long time since I've read a Redwall book. I've read (and re-read) most of the earlier ones, but this will be my first time reading The Long Patrol. It's already gotten off to a fun start, with the requisite menus of delicious food. I forgot how well those woodland critters eat.
Lotus was enjoying a sunbath with the book this morning and he wouldn't let me take it away from him.
Prince Tantra refuses to talk to me until I take down my banner, which he regards as deeply insulting and unforgivably blasphemous. He thinks it implies that kitty cuddles are secondary to coffee.
This all started when he asked me last night (on the phone) which I miss more, kitty cuddles or coffee. He's an insecure kitty and he often asks questions like this. I hesitated, he got miffed, and I guess my new banner is the last straw.
But the truth is, I don't remember dreaming of kitty cuddles last night, but I do remember dreaming of the scent of dark roasted coffee beans.
Sorry, Prince Tantra. I love you and miss you with all my heart, but if someone handed me a cup of coffee (wonderful rich dark coffee), I'd take a sip of it before setting it down to give you a cuddle.
Doodling during class helps me stay focused. Honest.
Sometime last year, I began drawing Obama Kittehs:
Papa Miao drew that glitterball when I went home recently. I asked him to give me something to add variety to my kittehs. I tried out a glitterball of my own last week but it has no kitteh. :( Tomorrow, I'll have several hours worth of opportunities to perfect my glitterball + kitteh doodles. Maybe I can try to draw a blue-throated merpuff.
The original kitteh doodles were by my brother.
The order in which I saw the Miao Brothers on my visit home this weekend:
Lotus - napping, or pretending to nap
Ping - Actually, he was the closest to the door and the first to greet me, but Lazy Lotus was napping at the other end of the house in line with my vision, so I saw him before Ping.
Mani - Unlike Lazy Lotus, he got up from his nap to say hi.
Kemi - Hurrying down to the basement because I wasn't alone and he is a Scare Bear. As soon as my friend left, he emerged from the basement and let me give him a big bear hug.
Tantra - Napping upstairs
Tashi - Napping upstairs with his twin.
Merlin - napping all the while on a living room chair.
When Papa Miao gets back from work in the evening, all Miaos crowd around the door eagerly and mill around him until din-dins. But when I come home midday, they're too lazy even to raise their furry little heads.
