The Miao-ku was written by Lurkertype in Ramses' memory. I'm touched to have such a kind and caring vox neighborhood. Thank you all for sharing your heartfelt and heartwarming words on the passing of Ramses, the eldest Miao Brother.

An impossible request! I won't even try.
But this reminds me that, finally, my tendency to procrastinate on even the simplest of tasks has cost me dearly. A while ago, more than a week ago probably, Dewi forwarded me this Team Vox post about the latest MOO promotion: a sticker book of 90 stickers for only $9.99!! I closed my eyes and squeeeeed, imagining Miao Stickers plastering all of my walls, my notebooks, my electronics, my kitchen cabinets, my tables, my chairs et cetera. Then, overwhelmed by the task of selecting 90 Miao photos from my vox library, I did nothing. Absolutely nothing. I could, of course, get 90 of the same photo (Prince Tantra suggests demands the one to the right), but that would be no fun.
Now MOO's free shipping deal has ended, but perhaps it would still be worth it to get a book of Miao stickers...?
I tagged few of my favorites - it was by no means a thorough job. I have no clue how many hundreds of Miao photos I have uploaded by now, and it's not easy paging through all of them. Please forgive me if anyone is underrepresented (I know my dear Kemi-bear is, and Tantra never gets enough attention, and I know for a fact there are some great photos that I left out).

Mama Miao's homemade chicken breakfast for the Miao Brothers was a resounding success. I don't know her recipe, but it's fairly simple and I'm sure she'd be happy to share. I think it is some combination of free-range chicken, boiled to a pulp and put through a meat grinder, mixed with carrots and peas.
Ramses loves the chicken dish just as much as he loves his Merrick canned food - which is saying a lot.
Tashi, normally a finicky eater, has no complaints - except that the portion sizes are too small.
Perhaps most significantly, the new food pleases the royal palette.
But you can please everyone all the time. Kemi stubbornly prefers crunchies. When it comes to wet food, he only ever eats the gravy. Mama Miao's homemade chicken has no gravy at all, so it never stood a chance. Lotus refuses to touch the new food. He has never been a big breakfast eater, perhaps because he fills up on buggies at night. Quite unexpectedly, Mani doesn't appear interested in the new food. His appetite earned him the sobriquet "the Hearty Trencherman", but if he keeps up his poor breakfast performance, he'll soon lose that distinction.
NOTE: I, the humble chronicler, have a painful admission to make. Their homemade breakfast was first served to them on 1 July 2007 (the day the photos were taken), but I have delayed nearly two weeks before posting about this most momentous event. I have no excuse for this neglect but my innately slothful disposition, my criminal disregard for responsibility, my negligible attention span, and my penchant to loll around snorgling kitty tummies and wishing on dandelion puffs all day long. I hope my Miao Brothers will consider these mitigating circumstances before they deprive me of my single source of respectability and livelihood.

sour is an important adjective they left out of that description...
What kind of fruit would each of the Miao Brothers be (note: this is a slightly revised version of the original blogthings question)? Clearly I'll have to devote more thought to this important metaphysical question. Here are some of my preliminary notes.
Ping would be an orange. Round, orange colored, and with a royal bearing.
Tashi would be Longyan (Longan?), a Thai fruit that means "dragon's eye" in Chinese. They're small, round, with an easily removable brown shell. Their flavor is subtly sweet and refreshingly juicy.
Kemi would be a blackberry.
Tantra would be an apricot - alternately tart and sweet, but mushy if overripe.
That leaves Ramses, Merlin, Lotus, Mani... As I said, this assignment requires much thought and revision. Any inspiration is welcome.
