Mama Miao made polenta for lunch. It was very yummy. She insists that it's simple enough even for me to make. If I remember right, all it requires is:
- A can of black beans
- A jar of tomato-based sauce (which would normally go on pasta)
- A sack of cornmeal
- And I'm guessing some salt and water
- An oven
These ingredients are combined to produce a savory layered dish such as the one pictured below.
Actually, on weekdays, the Miao Bros usually break their fast around 6am.
Please help yourself to a cup of hot chocolate with cinnamon swirls. Add a pinch of catnip to taste for a refreshing, minty flavor.
Mani starts off each morning with a scrumptious bite of lotus-ear.
Observe our manly Mani to the left, with his little bigfoot brother Lotus sitting next to him. They both await the serving of Brekkies, which Papa Miao is preparing offstage. Mani the Hearty Trencherman is famished and must have a bite of tender lotus-ear while he is waiting for Papa Miao. Who could resist the fluffiness of the Lotus? One bite, gnawm, gnawm, gnawm. Little Lotus mewls pitifully once, then twice. Mani contemplates a second bite. Lotus stands his ground. The curtain falls and breakfast is served.
Mani repeats this ritual nearly every morning, even though Papa and Mama Miao try to discourage him. Chomp chomp chomp, I wonder how long before he gobbles up both of the Bat-ears?
Chronicler's Note: Yay! for the improved video quality. However, it's basically cancelled out by the poor lighting of the Miao Kitchen.
